90’s kids, our childhood hero, Jackie Chan, has finally clinched an Oscar after 56 years of filmmaking.

After movies like Police Story, Drunken Master, Rush Hour 1 & 2, Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knight and plenty of broken bones later, he has finally gotten what he truly deserved.

After 56 years, more than 200 films and many broken bones

This year, Jackie Chan is one of the recipients for the four honorary Oscars which was handed out by the Academy of Motion Picture and Sciences.

Famous for doing his own stunts and often injuring himself in his movies, he never imagined he could get an Oscar for himself in his early years of filmmaking because he was making comedy/action movies.

It was only 23 years ago after he touched and kissed an Oscar statuette at his friend, Sylvester Stallone’s house that he wanted to get one for himself.

And he did it! Watch the video of his speech below:

The internet cheered

While some felt he was smart for not talking about American politics in his thank-you speech.

And of course, there are people who felt he didn’t deserve it.
