How will you feel if you found out that your car keys are missing, and it was your 17-year-old grandson who didn’t have a driving license has taken it out for a ride?

I’m not sure about you, but I would be pissed as hell.

17-year-old arrested for driving without a license

Just this week (7 June 2017), a 17-year-old boy has been arrested by the police for driving without a valid driving license. And that’s not all.

Not only did the boy drive without a license, he also engaged in a high-speed chase with the police when trying to ‘run away’ from the police cars that were after him.

The 17-year-old boy took his grandfather’s Toyota Corolla Altis for a joyride with his 16-year-old girlfriend. He was parking the car at Block 3 Ghim Moh Road at about 3 ++ a.m. before he saw a police officer turning into the car park.

After which, he quickly sped away.

Apparently, the police “were alerted to a case of driving without valid licence.” Guess you can run, but you can’t hide.

He sped away and even beat the red lights

And even when the police were chasing after him, he still continued to speed away and even by beating the red lights. The boy was eventually apprehended by the police who caught up with him.

As of now, police are still investigating the case, but I’m pretty sure that the boy will not be able to get his hands on any steering wheel any time soon.

Last year May, there was another high-profile case in which an underage driver, also 17 and with his girlfriend, hit a motorcycle, leading to the demise of a 45-year-old woman.

Kudos to the police for finding the underage driver and preventing history from repeating itself!
