Joseph Schooling is now the talk of the town. From his craving for Chai Tow Kway to a girl who replied him on Tinder after 4 months when she realised he was THE Olympic Medallist who beat Michael Phelps.
Of course, given that he is the first Singapore Olympian to win a Gold Medal for Singapore, everyone is extremely thankful to him for putting our little red dot back into the limelight on the world stage.
From Singapore Airlines presenting 1 million KrisFlyer Miles to Joseph Schooling to creating creative puns and memes to commemorate his victory, everyone just wants to do their part for this national hero.
Of course, given that it has something that has to do with Singapore, Jack Neo has to jump onto the bandwagon as well.
He “composed” a Thank-You Song for Joseph Schooling and performed the song together with veteran Getai singer Wang Lei.
While you might cringe at the beginning of the medley (trust me, I did), just listen on and you’ll find that the song is actually pretty good.
Using Schooling puns and a combination of English, Mandarin and dialect to convey their thankfulness, you can practically feel their happiness from within the video.
Oh, and Wang Lei mentioned that the song was composed in a minute by Jack Neo.
He might have broken some record too.
