We’ve all heard of wedding being called off for a myriad of reasons, from the wedding planner running off to the death of a loved one, but honestly, this is the first time we heard of a wedding being called off for this reason. Have you heard of how this wedding was called off because of food? And no, it’s not the whole buffet spread or anything, it’s because of bryani being cooked a different way.Well, if you thought that we’re kidding, we kid you not. We heard of this wedding being called off because the families could not agree on the food choice.

The bride’s family insist on having chicken biryani whereas the groom’s family insist that they would only eat mutton biryani. According to The Hindu, things actually took a turn for the worse when the bride’s family prepared 30kg of the chicken biryani and sent it over to the groom’s family, thinking it’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission. It upset the groom’s family greatly but they decide to accept it and the issue was resolved.

However, things got blown out of proportion when the entire episode was brought up again at the actual wedding and the couple-to-be decide to call off the wedding entirely.

So, what do we have to learn from this story? No, it’s not that crazy people exist in the world. Instead, this entire drama has proven to us that wedding involves more than just 2 people.

We don’t want our in-laws and parents to be unhappy with each other, right? So to all future couples out there, we highly encourage you to discuss all wedding details, be it big or small with your in-laws as well as your immediate family before doing anything else.

Inform them about the wedding invitation cards that you intend to design, the hotel that you’re booking to the dishes that you intend to have. Trust us, if your wedding is called off for a reason as ridiculous as this, we’re probably going to be writing about you next time.
