Fujian Gang Has Been in Singapore For Six to Seven Years
According to an unnamed source, the Fujian Gang isn’t a new thing in Singapore.
They’ve apparently been in Singapore for at least six to seven years.
The source told Shin Min Daily News that they’ve met some of the 10 foreigners who were arrested.
The foreigners led “high-profile” lifestyles, not surprising given their lavish spending, and often drove luxury cars like Lamborghinis and Ferraris.
The members also allegedly liked to shop at Takashimaya.
That, and party their nights away.
Foreigners in $1 Billion Money Laundering Saga Had Allegedly Spent Millions in Nightclubs in 1 Night
According to the source, they would hang out at high-end nightclubs in town.
Before the pandemic, they had frequented places around Marina Square but shifted to the Orchard area after the pandemic.
They’d usually be accompanied by girls from China while drinking and singing.
Some of the establishments they party at were “flower joints” where customers can “hang flowers” for the hostesses in exchange for companionship.
They reportedly spent up to S$1 million at these places.
Family Members of Fujian Gang Has Allegedly Left Singapore
Previously, Zaobao reported that the Fujian Gang had hundreds of members, according to an unnamed property estate agent.
Shin Min Daily News reported that many family members of the Fujian Gang has left Singapore according to another reliable source.
The Fujian Gang was reportedly separated into factions by surnames.
34-year-old Cypriot national Wang Dehai, who was one of the ten foreigners arrested, is believed to be the leader of the “Wang” faction.
Meanwhile, the 40-year-old Cypriot national Su Haijin who tried to evade arrest allegedly headed the “Su” faction within the gang.
Other factions named include the “Chen” and the “Hu” factions.
Lavish Lifestyles Led by the Arrested Individuals
Previously, it was reported that the individuals linked to the Fujian Gang were more than happy to pay for high-end properties in Singapore, but not without ruthless bargaining.
Several high-profile private property transactions in the past few years were allegedly linked to members of the gang..
This includes the purchase of 20 units at Canninghill Piers for $85 million and a GCB rental at Queen Astrid Park for $200,000 monthly.
Other lavish spending includes setting up karaoke rooms costing up to $1 million, setting up mini golf courses costing up to $300,000 importing luxury cars and buying luxury handbags.
