Having a craving for buffet but your wallet is feeling a little thin? Fret not, we are here to save the day! The buffets that we are introducing today are all under $20 but as all cheap buffets go, there will be some catch to it.

Please note that prices quoted here do not include GST/service charge, so the final price might be higher than $20. Nonetheless, it is still a lot more noteworthy to check them out since you will not need to fork out more than $50 for a craving.

Lao Beijing

Image: cherrycheong.blogspot.sg

Address: Plaza Singapura #03-01 / Velocity@Novena Square #02-11 Price: $13.99/pax – weekday High Tea Available timing: 3.00pm to 5.00pm weekdays only

Given the cheap price tag, it is no wonder that the time frame is a little awkward at 3-5pm. The solution is, of course, to take a heavy brunch on the day that you are visiting!

When you visit, you will see some common dishes such as custard buns, fried noodles and siew mai that are laid out on the side for self-service. The good stuff is for your ala carte orders. They have xiao long bao, guo tie and jiao zi, just to name a few famous ones. Imagine the endless xiao long baos you can have for just $13.99/pax.

Ban Heng Harbourfront Centre

Address: Harbourfront Centre #04-01 Price: $19.30++/pax Available timing: Lunch 11.30am to 2.30pm; Dinner 6.00pm to 10.00pm – Harbourfront Centre only

At $19.30++/pax , the variety of dim sum here is a lot more comprehensive than Lao Beijing. They have the usual suspects of siew mai, har gow, prawn rolls, shrimp dumplings etc. The only disappointment here is the lack of egg tarts. Nonetheless, it is a great deal to get as this buffet is available daily at its Harbourfront centre outlet.

The service here is relatively slow, so make sure you order the maximum amount of food that you think you can eat at your first round. Additionally, do not make orders before your first order is completely delivered to the table, else the order will likely be lost. The last thing to note – a minimum of 4 persons is needed to enjoy this buffet, so grab your friends to go now.

This is likely to be the first Taiwanese buffet ever! With over 20+ dishes on offer, Lee’s Taiwanese allows you to feast on famous Taiwanese dishes such as Braised Pork Rice, Mee Sua, Chicken Chop (Taiwan Style) and bubble tea (yes bubble tea!) at a reasonable price.
