Salted Egg Yolk Croissants have recently became the talk of the town, and we can see many netizens scrambling across the borders or these few designated cafes in Singapore to get their hands on the latest salted egg yolk pastries. What makes these salted egg yolk croissants so popular and sought after are often the sight of the savory golden sand that oozes out of the thin-crust pastry when sliced through – inciting nothing but just pure pleasure for the taste buds. Just shut up and take our money already!
BLACK&INK
Jumping on the bandwagon is BLACK&INK cafe, an unassuming establishment located in the East with tons of hidden gems. Other than their signature salted egg yolk croissants (that gets sold out before 3:30pm daily), they’re also widely known for their freshly brewed coffee and muffins with salted egg yolk fillings which are equally enticing.

Flavour Flings were the pioneers that brought Salted Egg Yolk croissants into Singapore, and I must say that they did a pretty good job at that since that also gave rise to the onslaught of the salted egg yolk croissant frenzy. Do note that their salted egg yolk croissants are only available for takeaways!

Crowned as the cafe which sells the best salted egg yolk croissants, it has attracted hordes of Singaporeans into the cafe just to have a taste of it. And if you think that was it, they’ve also recently upped the ante and introduced Chili crab croissants – possibly the next food trend to take Singapore by storm?

S$1 Salted Egg Yolk Croissants? Well, we are not even kidding. These petite croissants are the perfect pick-me-ups for an afternoon tea, but since the salted egg yolk fillings are injected into each croissant, consistencies are sometimes an issue. But hey! For S$1, we are not complaining man.
Only available at Novena Square, Tampines Mall, VivoCity, Waterway Point and Westgate outlets.
Do.Main Bakery
Since Do Main Bakery is very well-known for their quirky and unique flavors of bread, and it is high time that they jumped on the salted egg yolk croissant bandwagon. This crispy and buttery pastry was nothing but amazing.

And last of all – Da Paolo Gastronomia! Also known for their range of bread and pastries, the salted egg yolk croissant can be found at all of their outlets. The ones here are slightly more doughy and dense which bore close resemblance to the textures of bread!
