Well, I must’ve heard you right: So you want a plate of good ol’ chicken chop, some cheese fries where the fries are fried to a perfect golden-brown colour and the cheese just melts in your mouth.

And it must be affordable, if not cheap? Is that too much to ask for? Not really.

Just take a look at some of our western food here that will make you crave all day and night if you don’t get to eat it:

Wang’s Western
Their Chicken Chop – not overly tender, decent serving. Most importantly, kopitiam pricing!

Fish & Chicks
And you thought you won’t find restaurant-standard western food in our kopitiams – let me tell you, especially you Fish & Chips fans, this is where you must go!

What? They even serve it with salted egg sauce and chilli crab sauce if you’d like to have it that way – seriously, what else are you even waiting for?

Rasa Sayang Western Food
Nothing to do with our national day, but this place is where you’d want to get your Chicken Chop fix in Singapore. And probably their Ribeye steaks too. Just stay away from their Fish & Chips maybe, I mean, you can’t have the best of both worlds, right?

Indulgence @ Tanglin Halt
Okay, before you head off, let me remind you that you need quite a bit of patience when waiting for your food here. Whatever you do, just don’t bug or rush the auntie or uncle for your food okay?

As long as you’re willing to wait, you’ll get the privilege of pairing your favourite meat (chicken, lamb, fish) with your pasta (Aglio Olio, Carbonara, Bolognese) – how special, right?

Tucked away in a quiet corner that is more popular with the people living there, Wah Chee Western Food is also surrounded by really good tze char stalls. Anyway, come here for their Chicken Chop and Fish & Chips – you won’t be disappointed.

If you’re the type who likes to have some alcohol to go along with your Western Food fix, this place won’t disappoint – they have German beer, some craft beers, and even ciders!

Go on down and try it! You can trust the chef here – he graduated from a legitimate culinary school in France and has worked in Singapore’s hotel kitchens before.

Ham Bao Bao
Adorable name! Delicious food! Oh, you might be delighted to know that nothing is above five bucks here. Ham Bao Bao was initiated by 2 young fellow Singaporeans, Ryan and Clare, who love food, like us! They make their own burgers and sauces which are pretty bomb.

By the way, please don’t compare them to McDonald’s – we’re talking about *coughs* real *coughs* food here. On a tight budget but still craving for Western Food? Seriously, with all these that I’ve just shared with you, don’t say I bojio hor, okay?
