We’re pretty sure you’ve seen Nathan Hartono’s performance on “Sing! China” competition or have at least heard of his awesome singing that turned all 4 judges’ heads.
Believe it or not, he was quite popular even before he rose to fame recently with his singing video that surfaced on our social media feeds. If you’ve already done your research on this charismatic young guy, well we’re sure you would know a lot more.

Many haven’t noticed this guy until the Sing! Competition in China. But apparently, he’s known for singing and acting and his popularity is shown on his Instagram account. People who listen to local music scenes would also have known or heard of him.
He’s got 14k subscribers on his YouTube channel
It seems that he will rise to more fame soon, given that people are starting to notice him more. He’s already got a number of subscribers on his YouTube channel, which he showcases his covers of mostly English songs.
He’s a true born Singaporean
For those who’re still debating about his nationality or race, you should give up by now. He’s a trueborn Singaporean, but his parents are Chinese Indonesians. That probably explains his appearance, since he doesn’t look Singaporean.
His Mum is the SVP of Tung Lok Group
Nathan’s grandfather was the founder of Tung Lok Group, followed by his Mum who is currently the Senior Vice President. Here’s a little more background of Tung Lok if you aren’t really familiar with them. Tung Lok Group owns and manages more than 40 restaurants in Singapore, Indonesia, China, Japan and India.
His older brother will be taking over the family business
Norman Hartono, his older brother is said to be the successor of their family business.

In 2015, Nathan was cast as Coki in the Indonesian show “Halfworlds” created by HBO Asia. Looks like Nathan is quite the talented guy.

Nathan had debuted as a singer back in 2005, releasing his first album after winning the Teenage Icon singing competition.
He graduated from ACJC before going off to Boston
Nathan studied in Singapore and graduated from ACJC before he went off to Berklee College of music in Boston majoring in his passion; Music Production and Engineering.
