Ever since April 2020, you should’ve already learnt one truth about Singapore.
You reap what you sow.
Either that or, whatever the government promise, they will deliver.

Reader Bao: That’s two truths.
Well, yeah, but they mean the same thing.
Previously, F&B outlets were forced to suspend operations, despite how painful it’ll be to their finances because they can’t seem to follow the rules.
And the government says that they’re perfectly willing to make any restaurants caught an example so that other people will not follow in their footsteps.
Unfortunately, a few more F&B outlets were caught doing exactly what they’re told not to do.
3 F&B Outlets Not Allowed To Have People Eat-In Temporarily Due To Covid-19 Breaches
According to the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), 10 F&B outlets were fined for breaching Covid-19 safety measures.
This includes:

- accepting reservations of more than 5 people
- allowing large groups to mingle across tables
- allowing customers to drink past 10.30pm
- tables are not kept 1-metre apart
Basically, everything that they’re not supposed to do mentioned in recent news.
Three outlets were not allowed to have dine-in services for the time being:
- Der Biergarten at Prinsep Street
- The Mask at Circular Road
- and Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine at Amoy Street
The temporary ban will start on 28 Aug 2020 and end on 6 Sep 2020.
Ouch, that’s two weekends.
Another two outlets at China Square were banned from selling alcohol to customers:

- Folks Collective
- Botan
Similarly, their ban will last for 10 days and will start on 28 Aug and end on 6 Sep 2020.
The remaining five outlets who were issued fines include:
- Place 2 R.E.A.D
- Stage
- Kanpai 2.0
- Srisun Express
- SOS Salad
It was added that Der Biergarten was given a higher fine ($2,000 more) because this isn’t their first time breaching the rules.
New Measures For F&B Outlets
Previously, Mr Lawrence Wong, Singapore’s handsome man friend against Covid-19, urge restaurants to turn away bookings of more than 5 people.
No organized events, celebrations or parties where groups will mingle across tables are allowed.

In addition, F&B outlets are only allowed to play “soft” background music from now on.
That’s because the task force believes that should the music be loud, patrons will have to be louder to speak across tables, resulting in more droplets, and higher chances of Covid-19 transmission.
However, the good news is, if you’re a household of more than five people, you don’t have to take turns going downstairs to eating your favourite zichar.
Households with more than 5 members are allowed to eat together at a single table.
Be warned that the authorities will be stepping up their inspections of F&B outlets and if any are found lacking, their rice bowl will be affected.

URA urges business owners to “actively intervene” if they see any breaches such as intermingling between groups and separate them like they’re naughty primary school kids.
