KidZania is opening really soon, but do you know what KidZania is about, and what it has to offer? Read on to find out some fun facts!
The first KidZania in Singapore
The upcoming KidZania will be the first in Singapore. One can expect many scenarios for children to learn, interact and play, and of course, mimic real life working adults! It is also the first KidZania to be situated in an island resort. Yes it will be in Sentosa!
KidZania is EVERYWHERE
With 14 locations around the world, KidZania is everywhere – from Osaka, Tokyo, Mexico to Jakarta, KidZania has been around. It is only a wonder why Singapore doesn’t have a franchise!
It opens REALLY SOON
Thankfully, Kidzania opens REALLY SOON, in fact, it is scheduled to open on April, 2016. So mom and dads, get your children there soon!
It is not all about fun
Playing is fun, but KidZania is not all about fun. An important aspect of fun is of course, learning. In KidZania, kids learn about working, earning money. This type of experiential learning centre is indeed first of its kind.
It originated from Mexico
KidZania was started by Xavier López Ancona, a Mexican entrepreneur. It was founded in 1996, and has its first KidZania centre in Mexico. Since then KidZania has hosted, engaged and entertained over 25 million people…and it is still counting!
Its interesting concept
KidZania has an interesting concept, in that its facilities are like actual facilities in the real world, just shrunken, and scaled down to two-thirds of their sizes – to be just right for children. Kids first try and select an occupation that interests them, learn about their job, wear a uniform. In reward for work, they earn their own currency, KidZos, and can even spend them!
They have their own flag
One interesting thing about KidZania is that they are like a miniature world of their own. They boast of a monumental flag, which is KidZania’s national flag.
And a bit of their own language
KidZania is so immensely creative, they have invented their own language for saying hello! Common expressions are used in communication in KidZania such as: ‘Kai’ for ‘Hi’, ‘Kal’ for ‘Pal’, ‘Z-U’ for ‘See You’ and ‘Zaz’ for ‘Wow’
Their mascots
KidZania has 6 mascots, each representing the “6 Basic Rights for Children” in KidZania. These are: Right to Know, to Care, to Share, to Create, to Play and to Be
In KidZania is Singapore KFC is a partner
Now, not only KidZania have their usual occupation for children, they even have KFC! In this occupation, children will learn about food hygiene, and prepare a KFC meal!
