10 hidden gems in Changi except Changi Airport that aren’t very hidden

If you find yourself on the eastern-most side of Singapore with nothing to do (or so you think), fret not. Besides our world-class Changi Airport, there are definitely a whole list of other gems that are waiting for you to uncover them. Besides scenic views and customised meals, there are actually a lot more hidden gems than you think (that’s why they are hidden, right?) at this ulu side of Singapore.

Changi Point Boardwalk
Fine, this is not very hidden. However, if you are in Changi, why not pop by during sunrise/sunset to enjoy the gorgeous views? This boardwalk is 1.2km and segregated into 4 segments: Sunset Walk, Kelong Walk, Cliff Walk and Sailing Point Walk.

Cendol Melaka
This stall serves possibly the most authentic chendol dessert in the whole of Singapore. It’s freshly made in the wee hours of every morning, ensuring that you get the best taste!

Changi Chapel & Museum
If you are a history buff or simply wanting to know more about pre-modern Singapore, visit for an unforgettable experience. There are WWII memorabilia here, and the museum even details the various POW camps situated in Changi.

We The Furballs (WTF)
Dog-lovers will be over the moon when they visit this dog cafe. You just need to pay a small admission fee for a drink and playtime with dogs (totally worth it).

Changi Point Ferry Terminal
Here,  you can take a ferry to visit Pengarang for its cheap and fresh seafood. At night, however, the ferry terminal becomes a more seedy place that you should only visit if you are very very interested in people-watching.

Table Manners
There’s really no need to watch your manners at this casual restaurant. You get to build your own meal – a concept that is pretty similar to caifan. However, the cuisine choices are more western!

Changi Food Village
We don’t think there is a need to say more other than the name of the place, but we especially recommend the best-selling nasi lemak here!

Navy Museum
For families with kids, an educational yet fun and engaging experience will be worth your while when spending a day in Changi. There are even interactive game consoles for the young and tech-savvy ones!

Old Changi Hospital
Who’s afraid of the dark? Not you, we hope. This is possibly the most haunted hospital in Singapore. Go in the day if you are a little of a scaredy-cat.

1942 Alfresco @ Changi
This wartime-inspired restaurant is decorated with WW2 memorabilia and props like machine guns, banana notes and even Japanese flags.
