What is this? Close again? Why always liddat?
Maybe I’m a terrible person, but I’m assuming someone to be a little irritated after reading the early closure.
So anyway, chill a little.
The purpose of this early closure is the maintenance and renewal of the power supply system along the East-West Line AKA green line. So from October 2019 to December 2019 selected MRT stations will be closed early.
It’s mostly good, cause remember that despite our shortcomings, our transport system is pretty good, and this is part of maintaining it so it doesn’t *ahem* breakdown.
Early Closure On Selected Fridays & Saturdays From 11 Oct To 14 Dec
Two parts to this. First one is the period from 11 October to 23 November 2019. This one affects Clementi to Tiong Bahru. East-West Line, aka green line, will close at about 11.00 pm.
Or if you want me to spell it out for whatever reason:
- Clementi
- Dover
- Buona Vista
- Commonweath
- Queenstown
- Redhill
- Tiong Bahru
And then Simei to Pasir Ris from 6 Dec to 14 Dec 2019. Again, the stations close at about 11.00 pm.
If you need me to remind you that you don’t know the S’pore MRT map that well:
- Simei
- Tampines
- Pasir Ris
As for why the timing is about 11.00pm and not just nice 11.00pm, it is because every station’s last train comes at different timings.
Shuttle Buses Provided
From 11 October to 23 November 2019, for the Clementi to Tiong Bahru closure, shuttle bus service 1 will connect you between Jurong East and Outram Park in both directions. Service interval is 2-5 minutes only.
For the Simei to Pasir Ris closure from 6 Dec to 14 Dec 2019, shuttle bus service 7 will bring you between Tanah Merah and Pasir Ris in both directions.
Remember To Prepare Alternative Arrangements If Needed
Even though there is a shuttle bus available, it’s likely to be slower than the train. So remember to adjust your schedules.
SMRT will continue to update the changes in train operating hours on their website, Facebook, Twitter and SMRTConnect.
Don’t say never remind you hor. Later you take Grab wallet cry not my problem.
Otherwise, yeah, this is a pretty boring article for the rest of us with no plans near those MRT stations.
