Summer’s coming! Alright, it’s always summer in Singapore all year round, but still, many of us will head down to the beaches to chill, get some sun (365 days a year though) or enjoy a picnic with our friends. And a selected few make their way there to admire the scenery, if you get what we mean.
Well, whatever your reason is, here are 10 items you definitely have to bring with you to the beach, or you’ll regret like siao and become a bitch.
Hat
A beach hat or just something that covers the top of your head. You don’t really want to get a heatstroke instead of a suntan, do you? Keep your hair moisturized by applying hair serum.
Sunglasses
Gazing in the sun for long hours might cause your eyes to be fatigued, if not damaged. Pick a shade with lens in grey, black or dark brown as they are able to block stronger UV light.
Wet tissues
Don’t forget the wet tissues, you can use it on cleaning your stuff when you’re done. You can also use them to clean yourself if you’re not interested in taking a shower before going off.
Sunblock
Suntan lotion for if you want a tan, sunblock for if you don’t want to turn dark. With the scorching sun in Singapore you can easily get sunburn, so remember these essentials!
Waterproof bags
You would want your bag and things inside to be clean and dry after your day at the beach so invest in one! Or you’ll be cranky and moody for the entire day when you realize you’ve got sand and water in your iPhone.
Trash bags
Be responsible and clear your trash before you leave. These trash bags will be put to good use after a day’s worth of picnic and drinks.
Towels
You’ll be going home in a nasty state if you don’t remember your towel, so you’re welcome.
Deodorant
Apart from leaving you feeling fresh and clean after the copious amount of sweat, the deodorant will also help with body odor. It’s time to get one if you haven’t been using it! You wouldn’t want to be judged for stinking up the train home, do you?
Mat or beach towel
Get a proper mat or beach towel so you can chill and laze comfortably! There are people who don’t pack these stuff and wind up finding trash bags to lie on at the beaches.
Moisturizing lotion
Bring some moisturizing lotion to use after cleaning up. While your sunblock helps to block the harmful UV rays, your skin can still get irritated or dry. Keep your skin hydrated by applying moisturizer and drinking plenty of water!
