It’s a waste that Haji Lane is hardly mentioned as one of the hidden gems in Singapore. History has it that Haji Lane once went through an incredible and dramatic transformation, but times have changed and little is now being observed about in this cozy alley today. Nonetheless, here are some shops that you should check out the next time you’re here:

Blu Jaz Café (11 Bali Lane)
Known for having a live band and a warm ambience, this is a 101% hipster café that you should totally stop by for a cuppa Joe and some music!

Maison Ikkoku (20 Kandahar Street)
A boutique café housed in a cosy three-storey shophouse, it is known for their signature Mizuki bun that goes well with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Guys, you can get your shopping fix at the menswear boutique sitting on the second storey, just above the café.

The Nail Social (27 Haji Lane)
Ladies, are you looking for a hipster-style setting to do your nails? Here at The Nail Social you get to enjoy a variety of desserts and drinks, while you lay back on the couch and get your nails touched up for you at the same time. They also have an interesting history to share if you care to give a listen.

Café Fables & Bar Stories (55-57 Haji Lane)
Café by day, bar by night! This fun place, Café Fables & Bar Stories, is housed on top of a homey furniture store.

A Thousand Tales (55-57 Haji Lane)
A Thousand Tales is the furniture store that has a tricky interior which requires more in-depth observation – because who’d have guessed that a funky café-cum-bar would be upstairs? Tales, indeed!

Time After Time (62 Haji Lane)
One of the latest additions to the alley family! You ought to check this one out, it stocks unique and personalised dresses and accessories from countries like Thailand, Japan, and Korea! Probably a place you’d go back to – time after time? *cringes*

CAD Café (23 Haji Lane)
Feeling arty-farty? A café with a thought-provoking décor with artworks being showcased everywhere, this place may be your cup of tea.

Elffin & Elffin (29 Haji Lane)
Otherwise, this dessert café may just well be your cup of coffee instead – with an art gallery on the upper storey.

Soon Lee (73 Haji Lane)
The shop name itself sounds like a place I’d want to get my Chinese New Year clothes. But it’s actually a women’s fashion shop, with works by local designers, and even from overseas – Hong Kong and New York included.

The Alternative Store (59 Haji Lane)
As you can tell from the name, this is an alternative just in case the other places don’t interest you as much. Just kidding. They even have products like crystals and incense, coming from places like Nepal, India, and Thailand.
