No, you are not dreaming. There really is a Japanese Onsen in Singapore and it is becoming more and more popular as I write. Here are some things you did not know about Yunomori Onsen & Spa in Singapore you got to know.

You have to be naked
Ladies, please leave your bikinis and guys, please leave your swimming trunks at home. Just like the Onsen in Japan, if you want a real experience, you have got to take your clothes off. And yes, that includes your undergarments as well.

However, knowing how shy Singaporeans are, this Onsen has kindly allowed you to request for disposable undergarments (bra top and underpants). But really, don’t SHY can!

You cannot use your phones
One of the reasons is because the Onsen wants its customers to  relax their muscles instead of straining them because they are stressed from checking emails.

However, there is another reason which is pretty obvious. You don’t really want a stranger taking naked photos of you now, do you? (Creepy)

There are more male pools than female pools
Apparently, the onsen is more popular with men than women. Perhaps the men are more stressed out or maybe they cannot handle stress as well as the ladies?

Either way, it looks like men and women do have something in common after all! So ladies, if you are running out of ideas to get a gift for your boyfriend or your male friend, here is the perfect gift idea for you.

There is a sauna available solely for men
Ladies before you think about boycotting this place, let me tell you why. It is a proven fact that women have gentler skin than men. Thus, the hot baths could be too drying on the skin for the ladies to enjoy which is why it is only offered to men. Not to worry ladies, it is for the better.

You can stay there for the WHOLE day
Wait, what? Yes, you read it right. There is absolutely no time limit for visitors. You can literally come in the morning and soak in the waters till night. How awesome is that?

There are 6 varieties of baths
This is the biggest variety of baths here in Singapore. Soda spa, jet bath, bubble bath, silk bath and so on and so forth. Sounds tempting already, doesn’t it?

They have Thai massages
Gone are the days when you have to fly to Bangkok just to get your fix of a rub-down.  It is a little weird for a Thai Spa to be in a Japanese Onsen but as the Onsen was founded in Thailand by a Japanese team, this fusion makes sense. Not that you would need it but this is another reason to visit this Onsen!

There is a café in the spa
It just keeps getting better! Yes, there is a café in the spa which provides not only regular meals but Japanese cuisine too. After all, since you can stay there the whole day, why not have your lunch and dinner there? Maybe supper too.

You can take a nap there
There is no place like home unless that place is this Japanese Onsen. I mean, where else can you eat, sleep and soak in a nice bath that is not your house? This sounds like a dream but I assure you, it is real.

There is a lounge at the spa and you are ENCOURAGED to sleep there after you are done soaking at the pool. A place that encourages you to sleep is definitely a place you can call home.

You do not need to bring anything
Like really, leave all your barang-barang at home. From toiletries to towels, they provide you with everything. They are sort of like a magic lamp, ask for something and you will get it.

For all those who haven’t been there already, you must go and try it out!
