Going out for a movie and a nice meal is pretty romantic. And expensive. Not to mention somewhat inconvenient if you are feeling lazy. So why not just stay home together on a Sunday afternoon instead? On the other hand, you may not want to end up just napping around because your Sunday is too precious to really sleep away. If you’re in this situation, here is what we think you can do instead of sleeping at home. Yes, we’re telling you how to have the cake and both eat it.
MasterChef: The Couple Version.
Whip up a sumptuous feast together! From making pasta, to having a steamboat; from decorating your own pizzas to baking muffins, cooking is a great way to spend time together (and fill your tummies at the same time). Is your bae a MasterChef…or an utter noob? Either way, cooking together is fun. And funny.
Watch movies and videos.
You can borrow a movie from the library, or simply watch them off Youtube. Not only is this much, much cheaper (I still find paying $10 to watch a movie outrageous), you can also eat whatever you want with your bae during the show (bye-bye expensive theatre food and “no outside food” policy). And you can pause the show anytime to go to the toilet (especially if you desperately need to do a Number 2).
Watch childhood cartoons.
Both of you can go “aww” together and find out just how much of your respective childhoods overlap. Winx Club, Pokemon, Rugrats, Teen-Titans, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Scooby-Doo, anybody?
Exercise together.
What better way to work off those calories from the feast you had, and get active after sitting around watching movies, than to exercise together? Hit the gym, go for a run or a swim together. A 30-minute workout will leave both of you feeling refreshed and alert. #relationshipgoals?
Have a karaoke night. Just the two of you.
You don’t need to go to Teo Heng. You can always indulge in some karaoke just by going on Youtube and singing your heart out together. Why not try a romantic duet together too? Have fun and just let lose, because nobody will judge you guys.
Play board or card games together.
Okay, I know you can’t play bridge with just the two of you (actually, there is a way to do that, but that’s for you to figure out). Why not challenge each other to a game of Monopoly, or Scrabble? Board and card games are always a welcome break from the mania of the digital world.
Plan your next outing.
Staying at home has its perks, but you would also like to go out (out) together sometimes too. Why not use your time at home to plan where to go next? Research some nice food places and off-the-beaten path sort of locations to explore on your next date.
What other things can you do at home together?
