We all know how crappy waiters and waitresses are treated. Some diners have ridiculous demands, and they feel as though waiters deserved the crap treatment because they paid for it. If that’s not enough, they’ll take it out on chefs and superiors. *Moment of silence for all F&B staff* Here are 10 true stories from Singapore F&B industry that makes you want to tell the waiter to quit for their own good.

Blames the waiters for everything
If the food is taking too long, it’s the waiter’s fault. If the chicken came with a feather on it, guess who? It’s the waiter’s fault. When your credit card doesn’t pass, waiter’s fault.

Raging customers
There are diners who have absolutely no control over their rage. They leave and slam the door if the food is taking a long time. They lecture and yell at the waiters when it’s not up to their standard.

Seeing customers eat
Waiters don’t get the luxury of eating meals during their meal times. They don’t get to eat dinner during dinnertime. Maybe you feel as though they deserve it because they’re waiters. Well, maybe you’re just mean.

Annoying requests
When the place is full and busy as hell, there will be one single customer who decided to ask for a glass of ice water. And 2 minutes later, he decides he wants hot water. And 5 minutes later, he wants another glass.

Requesting for things multiple times instead of one shot
When that customer asks for condiments. Followed by ice water. Then napkins. Oh yea, it’s like you’re exercising.

Demanding for everything when it’s self-service
Some customers do it all the time despite knowing it’s self-service. It doesn’t hurt to provide them service but all the time?

Returned plates and food looks like crap
Yep we all mess up the plates after our meals. But there are just some diners who have to mess up the plates and tables real bad.

Negotiating prices in restaurants and cafes
No, the prices are not decided by waiters.

Despising waiters
No, you’re not better than them just because they’re serving you. Plus, you’d never know when someone serving you could be the owner of the restaurant.

Taking a decade to decide on what to order
You ask for the waiter when you think you’re ready to order. And then you take 2 decades to finalize your order. It’s ok when the place is empty, but sometimes there’s a thing called crowded.
