100 Local Celebs Like Jasmine Sokko & Benjamin Kheng To Perform At New Year Countdown 2020

To be very honest, I haven’t been home in Singapore to celebrate new years for the past few years.

But if there was a year in which I would skip the New Year getaway and stay home in favour of counting down in Singapore, it would probably be this year.

100 Local Celebs Like Jasmine Sokko & Benjamin Kheng To Perform At New Year Countdown 2020

100!? That’s a lot of local celebrities. To be more accurate, close to 100 of Singapore’s celebrities and talents will be present at Let’s Celebrate 2020 at The Promontory@Marina Bay on 31 December 2019.

According to Channel News Asia, this year’s lineup for the countdown show is full of stars from dance, music and fashion.

And at the top of our list is the young and super popular local electronic music singer-songwriter Jasmine Sokko who is set to headline the night.

If for some reason, you don’t know who she is, she recently won the Best Southeast Asia Act award at the 2019 MTV Europe Music Awards. Get this: She is the first Singapore musician to win this award.

Other Artists

I might’ve gotten a bit distracted by Jasmine, but don’t worry I haven’t forgotten about the other local talents.

Other performers you can look forward to include dance troupe BLVCKARMY who will present their first public performance after winning third place at Super 24, a local annual dance competition.

Other celebrities you can expect to see at the event include Dru Chen, Benjamin Kheng and Ramli Sarip.

The event itself will be hosted by local deejays Sonia Chew from 987FM and Fiza O from Ria 897.

There’s a cosy feeling that comes with staying home and watching the fireworks on television. Last year, 770,000 viewers tuned into the celebrations from the comfort of their homes, while 5,000 people watched the concert.

Mediacorp’s chief customer officer Irene Lim said, “Mediacorp’s annual countdown party is one of the nation’s most popular events, and once again, we are very excited to bring Let’s Celebrate with a focus on Singapore talent to all.
