What happens when you recover from COVID-19?

Maybe you’ll walk off the hospital like a boss:

But for a woman in the US, she asked for a bottle of beer, because why not?

And she’s 103 years old.

103-Year-Old COVID-19 Patient Asked for a Bottle of Beer to Celebrate After She’s Recovered

Jennie Stejna isn’t just a cool grandmother—she’s a cool great-great-grandmother.

Ms Stejna caught the coronavirus in the nursing home she stayed in, and due to her age, she became very ill.

Her family members had apparently said their goodbyes to her and when they asked if she was ready to go to heaven, she coolly said, “Hell yes.”

But her granddaughter said that she “always had that feisty fighting spirit”, and it showed in her fight against the disease.

After two weeks, she beat the odds and the virus as well, and recovered from the disease.

The moment the centenarian received news that she has received, she asked her caretakers for just one thing: a Bud Light.

Over in the US, a Bud Light beer is like Tiger Beer in Singapore—it’s one of the more popular beer brands there.

Ms Stejna had asked for the beer as it’s something that she loved but hadn’t had for a long time.

The caretakers then took an image of her drinking the beer, and needless to say, it went viral.

Not the Oldest Patient to Recover from COVID-19

Despite being 103, she’s not the oldest patient to have recovered from the deadly disease.

The honour goes to Maria Branyas from Spain, who’s 113 years old.

However, unlike Ms Stejna, Ms Branyas only suffered mild symptoms from the disease.

And no, she didn’t ask for a bottle of beer after that.
