Helped some random old man cross the road and think you’re the shit?

Successfully directed clueless tourists and think you’re the kindest person on Earth?

Well, think again.

According to World Of Buzza schoolboy has been piggybacking his disabled classmate to school. Not for one week; not for one month.

The helping hand/back ran for six whole years.

The Kindest Boy You Could Ever Imagine

Meet Xu BingYang, an ordinary schoolboy from China.

Despite being only 12, his maturity and kindness know no bounds seeing how he has been carrying his disabled friend, Zhang Ze to school without fail for six whole years.

(Zhang had been diagnosed with a rare muscle condition that’s known as myasthenia gravis at the tender age of 4. Incurable in nature, the condition caused Zhang to lose control of his voluntary muscles in his legs, making it hard for him to walk on his own)

Also, Xu makes it a point to help his friend get lunch, as well as alternate between classrooms for lessons with minimal discomfort. He also helps by refilling Zhang’s water bottle, handing him his homework and taking him to the bathroom.

“But wait, isn’t it troublesome for him?” asked Heartless Dick. “Doesn’t he want to have fun, look at girls… you know, that kind of thing?”

Well, it seems that the kind-hearted boy, who’s much taller and stronger than Zhang, has told reporters that it was his pleasure to serve as his friend’s “walking stick”. He also expressed that Zhang was easy to lift due to his weight.

“I weigh more than 40kg while Zhang Ze only weighs about 25kg, it was fine for me to lift him.”

Humble

But the humble statement couldn’t be further from the truth.

According to Sichuan Online and Xinhua, it could take the boys as long as three minutes just to move from their classroom to the toilet.

To cover the short distance, Xu would carefully hold Zhang by the hand or lift him up from the side, so that they could slowly advance together. And when walking up stairs, Xu would carry Zhang on his back.

Without a single complaint.

“For so many years, Xu has continued doing good deeds and never complained in front of the teachers and classmates,” one of the boys’ teachers told Sichuan Online.

And in case you’re wondering, he never bemoaned about it to his family as well. In fact, Xu’s mother wasn’t even aware of her son’s selfless behaviour at the start, stating that he’s shy in nature and has never shared his good deeds with the family. Apparently, she only found out what he did from his classmates.

When Xu himself was asked about his intentions, he said only one thing:

To continue helping others around him.

Appreciation

I’ve watched enough Disney cartoons to know that oftentimes, kindness is not repaid.

Thankfully, however, Zhang’s no evil stepsister, as he evidently has the greatest admiration for his pal. Expressing that he was extremely grateful for Xu, he said:

“Xu Bingyang is my best friend. Every day, he studies, chats and plays with me. I thank him for looking after me like this every day.”

And so… what’s the key takeaway here?

Well firstly, you gotta know that no matter how kind you think you are, a young schoolboy somewhere in China has you beat.

And secondly…

I think it’s time to up our friendship game.
