The headline sounds ridiculous.

In fact, it sounds unreal, like something you’ll see in Grand Theft Auto V. But believe it or not, this really happened.

A Plane Was Discovered

On the morning of 16 July, workers at an aircraft operating base in Zhejiang, China came across this sight.

Understandably startled, they lodged a report at the local police station.

Immediately, the police got into action and started looking through the CCTV footage.

And Found Out It’s a 13-Year-Old Boy

At about midnight, the CCTV caught a kid coming into the lot on his automated bicycle. He opened the temporary hangar curtains and pushed out a small aircraft.

Then, he got into the cockpit and started fiddling around with the controls. After some time, he managed to get the engine going and drove the plane around.

Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to turn the plane in time and crashed into the fence.

But He Never Gave Up

Because after he crashed the plane, he went back into the hangar and drove a second plane out.

This time, he went around a couple of times but luckily, didn’t crash it this time. He left the scene shortly after.

According to reports, the plane was a small seaplane and weighed about half a tonne, which explains why the small wiry boy was able to push it out.

When the police found the boy, he admitted to his actions immediately. His parents had to pay 2,000 RMB (~$395.80).

A Smart Kid

Workers at the airfield remember seeing the boy observing them working on the plane for a few hours the day before.

The director of the aircraft operating base was reportedly so impressed with the kid he hopes the kid will take professional flying lessons.

And it’s pretty understandable, considering how the kid learnt to start a plane by merely observing from afar.

I don’t even know how to start my boss’s car without getting my license.

One thing’s for sure, this kid is going to grow up to be a hell of a pilot. Agree?
