1,723 COVID-19 Cases Reported on 14 Nov With 10 Deaths

After the spike in cases on 12 Nov, our daily caseload has continued to drop, presumably thanks to our COVID-19 restrictions.

Consequently, our weekly infection growth rate, which was 0.98 on Saturday, fell to 0.97 the next day; this refers to the ratio of community cases for the past week over the week before.

Unfortunately, some COVID-19 cases continue to succumb to the disease.

10 COVID-19 Fatalities 

10 more COVID-19 cases passed away from complications, taking our death toll to 586.

Aged between 60 and 96, all had underlying medical conditions, according to the Ministry of Health (MOH).

1,723 New COVID-19 Cases

1,723 new COVID-19 cases were reported yesterday (14 Nov), a decrease of 581 from the previous day’s tally.

The cases comprise 1,651 infections in the community, 66 in migrant worker dormitories, and six imported infections.

Among the local cases are 307 seniors above 60.

MOH Closely Monitoring 6 Clusters

The Ministry of Health (MOH) is closely monitoring six large clusters with new cases, the largest of which is at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), with 423 infections. 396 patients and 27 staff members have been infected there.

One case each was added to the clusters at Acacia Home and Surya Home, taking their respective totals to 50 and 25.

Six new cases were also linked to Iman Childcare Woodgrove, meaning they now have 27 infections, comprising 18 students, six staff members, and three household contacts of cases.

The Safari House Preschool cluster grew to 18 after two more cases were added to it. 10 students, five staff members, and three household contacts of cases have been infected there.

The last cluster on the list is at NTUC Health Nursing Home. This cluster also grew to 18 cases after two more were linked to it, comprising 16 residents and two staff members.

1,525 COVID-19 Cases in Hospital; 121 in ICU

At the moment, there are 1,525 COVID-19 cases warded in hospitals, most of whom are well and under observation.

242 serious cases require oxygen supplementation and 121 are in the intensive care unit, comprising 52 cases who are unstable and under close monitoring, and 69 who are critically ill and intubated.

Over the past seven days, the number of fully vaccinated and non-fully vaccinated cases who have been critically ill in the ICU are at 0.5 and 5.4 per 100,000 population respectively.

The same figures for seniors aged 60 and above are 1.9 and 48.0 respectively.

Over the same period, the number of fully vaccinated and non-fully vaccinated cases who died are 0.1 and 0.9 per 100,000 population respectively.

The same figures for seniors aged 60 and above are 0.4 and 9.2 respectively.

Currently, 85% of our population has been fully vaccinated and 86% have received at least one dose. 20% have received their booster shots.
