12 Women & 3 Men Arrested for Vice-Related Offences After CB is Lifted

A Wise Old Man once said:

“Chase the CB if you desire. But under no circumstances should you ever chase the wrong CB

“It doesn’t pay.”

And though the Wise Old Man is a lecherous old man in his own right…

I’m inclined to agree with him on this one.

Crime-less Benefits simply do not pay.

12 Women & 3 Men Arrested for Vice-Related Offences After CB is Lifted

According to The Straits Timestwelve women and three men, aged between 18 and 38, have been detained for reported vice-related activities.

They were apprehended in an eight-day sting operation which targeted commercial and residential units in the Scotts Road, Balestier Road, Mackenzie Road and Selegie Road. The operation lasted between 12 and 19 June.

Eleven women were taken in for vice-related crimes under the Women’s Charter, while one 29-year-old woman was detained for offences under the Immigration Act.

A 37-year-old man was apprehended for the use of criminal force to restrict a police officer from performing his duty. Two men, aged between 25 and 31, were taken in on suspicion of drug-related activities.

The owner of an unapproved massage facility will also be investigated.

Another four men, aged between 25 and 66, were discovered inside these premises at the time of the raids. They were each issued a notice of a composition of $300, for breaching safe distancing rules under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.

A Spike In Such Activities

According to the police, there has been a spike in vice-related activities in residential estates, processed via online advertising of sexual services.

All property owners are responsible for the prohibition of such illegal activities in their units and should remain vigilant against ‘shady’ tenants.

Owners and tenants who (knowingly) permit their units to be used for such activities may face fines of up to $3,000, a jail term of up to three years or both.

Meanwhile, those acting as ‘agents’ or ‘pimps’ can be fined up to $10,000 and imprisoned for up to five years.

‘Wayward’ massage establishment licensees will also be punished under the Massage Establishment Act, with a fine of up to $10,000 or a jail term of up to two years or both.

Nearly 50 People Captured In Total

This incident follows previously coordinated raids between 4 and 6 May in various HDB estates, private condos, massage establishments and a hotel.

In total, 19 men and 30 women were taken in by police from the Criminal Investigation Department and Central, Tanglin, Ang Mo Kio and Bedok divisions.

Well, you know what they say;

It takes a CB to know a CB.

But even so, we’ll advise you to follow the right one instead of the wrong one.

Because in the end, getting on the wrong side of the law (CB) will never pay off.
