If you’re a 90s kid, you will definitely know these 15 extinct (or almost extinct) old-school tidbits that are just so unforgettable – because this is what it means to grow up the Singaporean way!

Biscuit Piring Wafer

These are so awesome! They’re so thin and fragile, but really crunchy and delicious. Though you’re still able to find it in bakeries and small grocery shops, the older version of it is almost impossible to find.

The current new versions are less tasty, with the darker shades of colour and smaller biscuit size.

Rainbow Ice Gems

Everyone knows what this is, but we just don’t know the name of it. Don’t be shy to admit this was one of your favourite childhood snacks, because even adults love it despite having the children-looking-snacks appearance. You’ll never forget how you used to pick the colours you like best.

Frozen Ice pop

This was the best thing on Earth on hot sunny days after school. Unlike kids who are so cool these days, we don’t chill at Starbucks back then. Our favourite hangout spot with our friends would either be at the block where we played catching or the Mama shop where we would get frozen ice pops to suck.

BOBDOG’s candy stick

How do we forget this adorable dog’s candy? Reaching for a stick and leaving it on your lips like you were smoking a cigarette because it’s just so cool. And not to mention, tasty.

Pola fish snack

Pola fish biscuits! We could just eat this on and on, without stopping. One packet is never enough because it’s so addictive. And this was god damn cheap – 20 cents per packet! Before the expensive chips took over and all, you know.

Apollo Wafer Chocolate

This was like the best chocolate biscuit, nobody hates them. We’ll occasionally get these at home during CNY or from a goodie bag on someone’s birthday. It’s weird how we don’t get these often because they’re just inexpensive.

ABC Biscuit

This was one of my favorite during Kindergarten days. We’ll also get the chocolate flavored ABC biscuits on some days with milk – like cereal. That was the best recess in school.

大白兔奶糖

No idea how this came about, but we probably ate this because the rabbit ‘s so cute. And this sweet is really cool, you can eat the plastic wrapper. NOT the exterior packaging though, just the translucent “plastic” looking thing along with the sweet!

I bet you won’t forget this. Chocolate goodness that was really popular back then and we would all get a couple of sticks and bite on them.

These mini buns will get you hooked more than anything else. Though they’re still selling it in stores, it’s been ages since we’ve actually bought that to snack on! This was considered the “healthy snack” during our childhood.

Chocolate coins

Anything chocolate was awesome. This chocolate coin is pretty precious, because we can only receive it on certain occasions like CNY or during Children’s day from the teachers. It’s literally like gold to us. HUAT.

Haw Flakes

Better known as Shan Zha, 山楂，this snack is pretty much extinct or too hard to find. It seems like so much fun peeling the paper wrappers and eating only piece by piece.

There was a period of time when magic pops were like the trend. Hate it or not, you’ve tried it before.

Wheel crackers

Feeling nostalgic yet? These spin crackers, or wheel crackers can still be found in supermarkets or mini marts so you’re still able to eat these when you miss your childhood.
