Another tragedy has befallen Yishun.
A teenager passed away in a fire which occurred in a flat at Yishun Ring HDB.
Here is what happened.
Teenager Who Was Stuck in a Burning Flat Passed Away From His Injuries
Unfortunately, a teenager who was rescued from a burning flat yesterday did not make it.
A spokesperson for the police revealed earlier today that the teenager passed away from his severe injuries, reported Zaobao.
So far, what has been revealed is that the youth was alone at home when the fire started, though it remains unclear why he did not manage to escape from the burning flat.
Some residents who lived nearby speculated that the teenager could have been sleeping at the time the fire broke out and therefore did not manage to wake up and escape the flat.
The fire was reportedly started in one of the bedrooms in the flat.
Investigations into the matter are still ongoing.

Fire Broke Out at Yishun Ring HDB Flat
What we do know, however, is that the flat on the 12th floor of Block 783 Yishun Ring Road caught fire yesterday.
There were news reports about the fire, which occurred around 8.55 pm in the evening.
The Singapore Civil Defence Forces (SCDF) firefighters were alerted to the fire and rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire.
In a Facebook post shared by the Singapore Civil Defence Force, the unit was “smoke-logged” with a “fire raging” inside the unit when they arrived.
The valiant firefighters skillfully broke through the back door of the flat and rescued the 17-year-old male from the smoke-logged flat.
The victim was unconscious at the time of the rescue.
After the teenager was rescued from the flat, the rescue staff quickly performed CPR on the teenager, and he was sent off to the hospital for treatment.
A water jet was also deployed to extinguish the fire.
An image attached to the Facebook post showed the charred interior of the flat, which had a bunk bed, a table and some drawers. All the furniture was blackened with soot.
Some of the neighbouring residents were also affected by the fire, with over 50 residents evacuated from their flats when the fire occurred yesterday.
