Because on 3 July, Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced through an advisory that hotels in Singapore can now take bookings for staycations as long as they have applied for permission from the government beforehand.

Safety Measures

If you’re intending to go ahead and book a staycation soon and wondering if it’s safe, it is (probably).

For them to have gained approval to take in bookings, it means they have already complied with the safe management measures that have been drawn up for them.

Some of the measures include ensuring that there is only one person per 10sqm in public spaces accessible to guests at any given point in time, excluding hotel staff.

You will also not encounter as many face-to-face mingling in the hotel lobby thanks to their staggered timings.

You can continue to keep a lookout for more hotels to open if you think that the prices of the rooms in these hotels are too steep.
