A 20-year-old Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) full-time national serviceman died on Sunday, 6 September, after he was found unconscious at Marina Bay Fire Station.
Lance-Corporal Muhammad Nur Ilham Mohammed Iswadi was on duty when he was found unconscious at the fire station’s training yard at about 8.10am, SCDF said.
Personnel at the station immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him.
He was subsequently taken unconscious to Singapore General Hospital, where he died.
Police Do Not Suspect Foul Play
Police said they received a call for assistance at 8.15am at 70 Marina View, the address of Marina Bay Fire Station.
Based on their preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play.
Investigations are ongoing.
Had Been Posted to Marina Bay Fire Station in August
LCP Muhammad Nur Ilham enlisted for National Service on 10 February 2026.
According to SCDF, he completed his firefighter course at the Civil Defence Academy on 7 August.
He was then posted to Marina Bay Fire Station on 18 August, less than three weeks before his death.
SCDF expressed its condolences to his family and said it is providing them with the necessary assistance and support.
