Though rare, drug trafficking does occur here in Singapore.
Which cuts a frightening thought, considering how harmful drugs can prove to be, both in the short and long run.
Thankfully, however, our Central Narcotics Bureau is always on the lookout for such shady operations…
And it seems that they have done our nation proud once again.

Six individuals ended up being nabbed, with drugs worth a whopping S$222,000 confiscated in the process.
It should be noted that of the six individuals, two were just 22 years old.
The raids were initiated in the afternoon, with a 37-year-old Singaporean male arrested at the void deck of an apartment block in Buangkok Crescent.
After a quick search, three bundles containing some 1,873g of heroin were found on him.
In addition, his vehicle harboured around 1g of “Ice”, 1g of cannabis, and various drug paraphernalia. His unit was also scoured, and turned up three packets of around 8g of heroin, as well as more drug paraphernalia.
In the same afternoon, a separate party apprehended a 22-year-old Singaporean male at the ground floor lift lobby in Edgefield Walk. Following a thorough search, two parcels with around 29g of “Ice” were found. He was then taken to his vehicle, where a 22-year-old Singaporean female was found and apprehended.
Thereafter, a subsequent operation was conducted at the same apartment block in Edgefield Walk, where a 55-year-old Singaporean male and a 35-year-old Singaporean female were apprehended. Their residential unit was swiftly swept through, and officers found:

- 32 packets containing around 73g of “Ice”
- 212 “Ecstasy” tablets and fragments

In total, around 2,804g of heroin, 109g of “Ice”, 225g of cannabis, 212 “Ecstasy” tablets and fragments, as well as five Erimin-5 tablets were seized.
For the record, 2,804g of heroin is also enough to satisfy 1,335 abusers for an entire week.
Investigations are still ongoing.

Netizens have also heaped praise on the bureau, with several sending “clapping” emojis.
Others warned that the suspects are possibly facing the death sentence
One, however, lamented how drug trafficking has cost such young lives.
