We’re in the last week of May now, and the daily cases reported have been stable so far.
Today, there are 344 cases reported. The lower number of cases today is partly due to fewer tests being conducted
This means in Singapore, we now have 31,960 confirmed cases in total.
Out of today’s cases, 4 are Singaporeans or Singapore PRs.
A majority of today’s cases are work permit holders living in dormitories.
On average, based on yesterday’s numbers, the number of new cases in the community has increased, from an average of 5 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 6 per day in the past week. This is partly due to MOH’s active surveillance and screening of nursing home residents and pre-school staff, which have picked up more cases in the past week.
The number of unlinked cases in the community has remained stable at an average of 2 per day in the past two weeks.
One of the Confirmed Cases Yesterday is a Pre-School Staff Member
Out of the three Singaporean cases yesterday, one of them is a pre-school staff member. The 33-year-old woman works in Iman Childcare (Tampines) and was tested positive on Saturday—the day that she showed symptoms, too.
The other case is a 55-year-old man who had gone to work in a dormitory after the onset of his symptoms on 17 May.
The last case is a 35-year-old woman who’s a household contact of another confirmed cases.
For the longest time, there is no new cluster reported yesterday, and 14,867 people have since been discharged, with 8 people in ICU now.
