3 Singaporean and 1 Permanent Citizen Among the 26 Import Cases on 1 Apr

Happy (belated) April’s Fool Day!

Though for those 26 people who received their positive COVID-19 test results from the MOH yesterday, it’s definitely not a prank and it’s most definitely not funny.

All are imported cases, including 3 S’poreans and 1 PR holder

As announced by the Ministry of Health (MoH), there are 3 locals and 1 PR holder who are among the 26 imported cases of COVD-19 yesterday.

The locals entered the country from Belgium, India and Indonesia, while the permanent resident came from Yemen.

Of the remaining 22 cases, two of them consist of student ID holders from India.

There’s one work pass holder from Japan, and 17 work permit holders from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates.

Three of the work permit holders are foreign maids.

The last two positive COVID-19 cases consist of short-term visit pass holders who came to Singapore from Indonesia and India to visit their respective families here.

Out of the 26 imported cases, 23 are asymptomatic. They were detected via the MOH’s proactive screening and surveillance.

The last three exhibited COVID-9 symptoms.

All 26 imported cases were diagnosed during their mandatory Stay-Home Notice (SHN) upon entering Singapore.

On the bright side, there aren’t any community cases yesterday! Hip, hip, hooray?

217 Active Cases

Currently, 38 COVID-19 patients are still hospitalized, with one person receiving treatment in the intensive care unit. There are also 178 COVID-positive patients who are currently isolated and cared for at community facilities.

12 people have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities, bringing the total number of recoveries to 60,161.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 remained at 30.
