What would you do if you were driving on the road in the dark, listening to 987fm and a lorry suddenly barrelled past you…
In the opposite direction.
This was what some drivers driving along Tampines Expressway (TPE) on Thursday night at around 11.40pm experienced.

A lorry was spotted driving in the opposite direction on a busy expressway and captured on multiple footages.
In fact, he didn’t even stay on the outermost lane.
Multiple footages also captured the lorry driving in the middle of the expressway.
In some, its headlights were switched off, while in others, the headlights could be seen flashing at oncoming vehicles.
The traffic police reportedly received several calls about this lorry.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.
Maybe because there are fewer cars on the roads now. Hey, the #CCB (Covid-19 Circuit Breaker) save some lives le!
Investigations Are Ongoing
After looking through the CCTV and a thorough investigation, the police managed to establish the identity of the dangerous driver, which is believed to be a 28-year-old man.
He was arrested yesterday (11 Apr) and his license was suspended immediately.

A Driver Was Recently Punished Harshly For Driving Against The Traffic On AYE
No one knows what the motivation was behind the driver’s decisions but we sure hope that it’s not because of #YOLO.
Previously on Nov 2019, a driver was sentenced to one year of jail time and banned from driving for 12 years.

He drove against the flow of traffic three years ago on Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE). He was sending his son to CMPB for work when he missed an exit.
He sped up and drove into the motorcycle lane until it got too narrow for his vehicle, then he made a U-turn and drove against the traffic.
He eventually hit multiple vehicles, heavily injuring four others and killing one.
The judge, when sentencing him, said that the punishment is harsh but it’s required after all the harm he has brought to others.
