Khatib HomeTeamNS is the latest lifestyle destination that everyone is paying attention to.
Unfortunately, not all the attention is good as shortly after it’s “soft” opening, it was visited “multiple times” by 2 Covid-19 cases.
Shortly after, the Ministry of Health (MOH) found a third Covid-19 case that visited the new clubhouse.
All three cases reportedly visited Jewel Music Box KTV at HomeTeamNS Khatib on 1 August and 2 August 2020, days where many people were invited there for a preview of the premises.
Two of the cases had been there for a longer period of time due to work purposes.
No singing was held at the KTV as the outlet is not operational yet.
While MOH has assessed the risk of Covid-19 transmission to be “low”, they decided that it’s better to be safe than sorry and got everybody who visited to come in for a swab test.
In total, 321 people were contacted.
293 People Who Visited Khatib HomeTeamNS Jewel Music KTV Tested
On 20 Aug 2020, it was reported that a total of 293 people have been tested, with 28 people yet to be tested.
Arrangements will be made to get these 28 people swabbed, MOH says.
193 tests have been processed and returned with a negative result. The figure includes 4 cases who reported for Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) and were sent to the hospital to be assessed further.
The remaining 100 swabs are pending test results.
The Three Confirmed Cases:
1) 57-year-old Singaporean Woman
She was detected after she went to the doctor for prolonged acute respiratory infection symptoms and was sent for a swab.
She was subsequently confirmed as a Covid-19 case on 8 Aug 2020.
2) 58-year-old Singaporean Man
He was identified as a contact of the first case and was placed on quarantine.
It was during his quarantine, when he was swabbed to verify his status, that he was identified as a Covid-19 case on 11 Aug 2020.
3) 39-Year-Old Singaporean Woman
She was detected under MOH’s enhanced community testing where everyone above 13 years old has to undergo the swab test the first time they see a doctor for ARI.
She was also a contact of the first two cases and tested positive on 15 Aug 2020.
HomeTeamNS has previously said that they’ve engaged in a thorough cleaning and disinfection of all affected areas in the clubhouse.
