3 New Clusters Reported in S’pore Today; A Bar, S’pore Cricket Club & A Construction Site

Unless you’ve just paid your Internet bills and just got access to the Internet tonight, you’d probably know that Singapore has just announced the most drastic measures (so far) to contain the spread of the coronavirus this afternoon.

All workplaces would be closed unless they’re essential services, and schools would shut down. Everyone is advised to stay at home.

And by the way, it’s not a lockdown; it’s a circuit breaker.

And judging from the clusters reported today, it seems like the move might be justified, because 3 new clusters were found, and 2 were…well, entertainment places that should have been avoided in the first place.

3 New Clusters Found Today (3 April)

Singapore has 65 new cases today whereby 56 of them are local cases.

For a start, 3 more cases were linked to the Mustafa Centre cluster, which now has a total of 14 cases.

And just so you know, with the “Circuit Breaker”, most shops in Mustafa Centre would soon be closed, so that actually kind of solves the problem.

The first new cluster is the Ce La Vi rooftop bar at Marina Bay Sands. The highly Instagram-worthy place has 4 cases.

Apparently, because it’s a restaurant as well, it wasn’t closed during the shutdown of all bars—in fact, they even offered discounts:

Only the bar is closed:

However, even when it’s considered an F&B outlet, it’ll be closing with immediate effect.

I’m just as confused as you are.

The second cluster is at Singapore Cricket Club which has six cases. So far, they’ve not responded to the cases.

The third is a construction site at Project Glory, an integrated development at 50 Market Street, with four cases.

Also, 11 more cases were linked to the S11 Dormitory @ Punggol, which now has a total of 24 cases.

Now you know why there’s a lockdown circuit breaker.
