Interior designers are like magicians when it comes to your home.
If you managed to spot a good one, your home could go from zero to hero within the span of a few months.
Don’t believe me?
Check out what this ID did to a 3-room HDB flat.
Interior Designer Transformed Boring 50-Year-Old 3-Room HDB Flat into a Spacious & Instagram-Worthy Condo-Looking Flat
Here, take a look at the original 3-room HDB flat.
The classic HDB design, not the prettiest but it does it work.
Then, it got overhauled.
The square window grill is replaced by tastefully-designed blinds, and the furniture picked for colours that will match with the darker hues of the home.
The designer made use of light and colours to completely transform the home from dark and depressing
To light and modern.
Instead of a normal, round light, the pendant light used adds a lot to the design within the flat.
Widen The Space, Hide The Appliances
You can tell that the HDB flat is an old one based on the layout of the home.
To achieve the new look, the wall was broken down to open up the kitchen and dining area even more.
Potted plants were added to bring the entire design to life.
Here’s the original kitchen, cluttered and narrow.
The island counter supposedly has an oven and cooker built into it.
And in lieu of an overhead hood, there’s a downdraft hood that will rise up to suck in the oily fumes at the push of a button.
So when you’re not cooking, it looks clean and when you need to cook, it can be kept clean.
Doing Your Business Comfortably
One of the most important areas in your house is undoubtedly the toilet.
After all, when you can’t bear to use public restrooms because they’re dirty and unhygienic, the only comfort zone left is your own home’s.
So from this
It was overhauled to this:
Contrasting tones and lights were used to make you feel like you’re taking a dump at an atas hotel like MBS.
Glass Wardrobes Are Magical
Sometimes, not everything needs to be covered up and everyday necessities can be used as a decoration.
Before:
After:
Not only do glass wardrobes let you keep track of what you have, but it also helps to add a touch of colour to the room.
You can view the entire project, as well as other projects on the designer’s Instagram account here.
While it’s not Pinterest, it does make a lot of design ideas appear in your mind, doesn’t it?
