For $35 an Hour, a S’porean will Catch Rare Pokemon for You

We’ve previously written about a guy who quit his job to become a full-time Pokemon Trainer so we were wondering if anything like that will happen in Singapore.

Since Pokemon GO was launched in Singapore less than a week ago, it has taken the entire country by storm, including a player finding a dead body at Woodlands.

While we do not have anyone quitting their full-time jobs to take up the mantle of Pokemon Trainer, we do have a few enterprising individuals who decide to turn the game into, well, something more.

$35 an hour Pokemon Trainer

Love the game yet unable to find the time necessary to catch ’em all? Now you can get someone to do it for you at just $35 an hour.

Enter Mr Darrell Theseira, a 21-year-old whose waiting for enlistment, decide to do just that.

How it all got started

When the game was first released, he and a group of friends went on a 24-hour gaming spree where they visited landmarks like Orchard Road, Mount Faber, Changi Airport, Punggol Waterway and Sentosa.

He noticed that a lot of gyms were taken over by spoofers, people who masked their GPS location and played the game before it launched on Saturday.

This means that beginners are unable to win at gyms simply because their own Pokemon are not up to snuff.

Help beginners capture strong and rare Pokemon

He decided to offer his services to beginners to help level the playing field by getting beginners strong and rare Pokemon for a fee of $35 per hour.

“I just want to help the community grow faster,” he said. – tnp.sg

He claimed that more than 40 requests have been sent to him since he started offering his services on Carousell.

He’s not the only one

And he’s not alone. There are many other people selling Pokemon GO-related services on Carousell, among which are private car rentals, car hires and even selling of accounts with many rare and strong Pokemon and even levelling up your account to level 30.

Buying an account will set you back by $25-$80, while a single rare Pokemon can cost you $3-$20.

But be warned that these accounts are built up with the help of hacks or spoofs which might get your account banned although a seller on Carousell said that the chance of that happening is “less than 1 percent.”
