If these look familiar to you, you’ve just earned yourself a spot in my squad – PP: Proud Peasants.
Travelling can be exhausting, but I enjoy long bus rides where I get to ponder about life and pretend I’m the emotionless female lead of a sad Eric Chou music video as I listen to his latest single, “Zen Me Le” (What’s Wrong) for the 100th time. Highly recommended by the way.

But MRT? Not so much.
Nevertheless, if you hate taking the train, then this won’t affect you.
But if you’re one who likes to go for late MRT rides (and ponder about life), then read on, because four stations are closing earlier this month.
4 Stations on North-East Line to close at 11pm
Whether you’re a party animal who spends your weekend letting loose at Clarke Quay, or a USS fanatic, this is the unpleasant news for you:
From now till 30th March 2019, 4 stations on the North-East Line are expected to close at 11pm every Friday and Saturday for maintenance.
According to Land Transport Authorities (LTA), “Commuters can look forward to increased train service reliability when these works are completed.”
We sure hope this translates to reduced MRT breakdowns.
The affected stations include HabourFront (NE1), Outram Park (NE3), Chinatown (NE4) and Clarke Quay (NE5).
Noticed something strange? NE2 doesn’t exist because it was meant for Keppel which has a low demand of train passengers, but who knows? It may be operational in time to come.
(Yeap, I was today years old when I stumbled upon this treasure too. Cheers to an IQ score that just increased by 1!)
Before you stress out about having to reschedule your weekly gatherings, fret not night owls, your guardian angel got it all covered.
Alternate travel methods
Shuttle bus
In their release online, LTA has mentioned that a shuttle bus service (22) will be provided from 11:00 p.m. onward between HarbourFront and Dhoby Ghaut on the respective Fridays and Saturdays. This bus will be available every 1 to 5 minutes at bus stops and interchanges around the affected stations.
Longer operational hours for train services
Besides the shuttle bus service, the last train departing from Dhoby Ghaut to Punggol will be extended to 12:36 a.m.. LRT services will end later too at 1:03 a.m. and 1:05 a.m. in Sengkang and Punggol respectively.
Bus Services to be extended – 83, 382G, 386, 315 and 325
A couple of buses will operate longer as well.
Departing from Punggol Interchange, the last buses of 83, 382G and 386 will depart at 1:10 a.m.
Buses 315 and 325 will run later into the night too with the last bus moving off from Serangoon Bus Interchange at 1:00 a.m. and Hougang Central Bus Interchange at 1:05 a.m. respectively.

I rarely have a need for the purple line but thanks to my boyfriend who lives in the far end of Singapore near the monkeys on Coney Island, I find myself travelling to the opposite end of the little red dot more often than not. It’s as good as having a long distance relationship. But on the bright side, I now know the MRT map by heart.
At times like this, I’m glad Goody Feed is located in a more accessible area called the West.
If this isn’t me, I don’t know what is.
Over in TikTok, there’s a drama involving property agents that’s caused by us. Here’s what happened:
