Now, most of you reading this article are probably looking for validation to change your job. Or like we Singaporeans like to say, jump ship.
Even if the ship isn’t sinking.
But you don’t know if you should.
I mean, you’ve heard about how bad the economy is right now and you know it’s damn hard to get a new job fast.
At least fast enough before you starve to death.
To guide you, here are four questions that you need to answer honestly.
And if your answer to them is yes, well, it might be time to log in to your Job Street account again.
1. Do you need other people to motivate you at work?
Okay, first off, I’m not talking about you loving your job. Of course, it’ll be awesome if you’re doing something you love, something you’re really passionate about.
But sadly, not everyone is lucky enough to get a job they really, really like.
So here’s the question: do you feel challenged at your workplace? Do you feel the need to push yourself past your boundaries?
Do you love the feeling of just winning at everything you do?
If you don’t, it’s time to go. But wait, hold up. Before you tender your resignation letter, here are three other questions you need to answer.

2. Are you starting to hate your colleagues at work?
It all starts innocently. Someone made a casual comment to the boss that lands you into hot soup.
Or maybe they’ve started irritating you more than usual. You know, where everything they say seems to be shooting at you.
And you, being the closet Incredible Hulk that you are, will never forget what he or she did to you. Oh boy, passive-aggressive has nothing on you.
If you feel this resentment growing between you and your colleagues, bosses or even kah kia (read: minions), ask yourself if their behaviour towards you have changed from the beginning.
If it hasn’t, then you’re just losing your tolerance towards them. It’s time to say goodbye liao.
3. Do you start daydreaming at work?
If you start to have the tendency to stone or daydream about something, it simply means that you’re bored of your work.
And boredom is a sign that you’re no longer interested or challenged by your job scope. Depending on what type of person you are, that could be a good or bad thing.
If you’re someone who wants to make it big in life, it’s time to talk to your boss and ask for a change in job scope or just give him your resignation letter.
And if you’re someone who just wants easy money every month, well, if you’re still doing fine at work, just carry on.
And of course, the last question that you must always ask yourself.
4. Are you ready to quit?
Please, please, please. No matter how angry you are, you got to ask if you are ready to let go of this job.
Singapore is a pretty expensive city to live in (right at the top, in fact) and you might have parents or partners who depend on your paycheck.
Do you have a backup plan? Have you gotten another job offer? Are your funds able to last until you get another job?
Don’t go until you can answer yes to the fourth question. #BeenThereDoneThat

The Coca-Cola Plus Coffee has arrived in Singapore, and let’s just say that the taste is very subjective: one of us thinks it’s like coffee candy, one of us thinks it’s like carbonated dark chocolate milk and one of us think it’s like Vanilla Coke. However, none of us thinks that it’s worth a second try, simply because we’ll all rather have Coke and coffee separately.
