Countless cases of poisoning have happened throughout history.
For instance, the second last Qing Chinese emperor was poisoned more than a hundred years ago.
Modern cases of people being poisoned to death have also happened (over lovers’ vows), of which I’ll leave to your internet sleuthing skills.
But what would your reaction be, when I tell you that 40 cows and numerous unnamed wild animals were poisoned to death in a farm in Johor?
Cows and Wild Animals Died Due to Rat Poison
The owners there had decided to kill rats.
Understandably, because it’s a farm/plantation.
What if I told you they had also killed other innocent animals:
On 8 September 2019, the Malaysian Animal Association shared a post on Facebook detailing how 40 cows and countless wild animals were found dead on an estate in Johor Malaysia.
Such as the poor deer above.
And this poor owl.
The plantation owners/workers had carelessly scattered rat poison around the estate to kill rats, understandably. Yet they moronically scattered the poison openly, such that their own cattle and other wild animals consumed it and died.
If for some reason, you’ve decided to ditch your 9-5 job in favour of becoming a farmer or have a serious rat infestation in your home:
Here’s how to use rat poison harmlessly.
The owners were also criticised for letting their cows wander freely, like their own granddaddy owned the place.
Okay, legitly, the cows’ granddaddy, the owners, do own the land.
Alternatives to Rat Poison Could Have Been Used
Such as owls.
Or just bury the rat poison in the field, safely, as it is meant only for mice/rats.
Relatively irrelevant to Singapore, I know. After all, who rears cows here, in this day and age?
I rear my dog better.
