I’m not really one for physical conflict.
In fact, physical fights are probably the worst place for me since I’m weak and would probably get beaten up.
That and I’m usually scared to retaliate anyway.
Some people aren’t, however, and would gladly use whatever means possible to fight back.
Sure it might land them in trouble later, but in the heat of the moment, sometimes you do silly things.
Not So Chair-itable Fight
Because fighting with your fists and knives is way too mainstream.
Five men, aged between 21 and 47, were arrested on 4 December and charged with affray.
Right that same day, a video was shared on Facebook, showing the ensuing fight.
The incident occurred along Lorong 1 Geylang at around 11.40 pm.
The video is explosive from the start, with a bunch of angry men raising yellow chairs and swinging it against each other.
Others in the vicinity attempted to calm the situation.
Luckily, a police report was made, and the cops came down and arrested everyone within a few hours.
Thank goodness for that too because it seemed like they went all the way to the main road!
According to the police, the incident started from a dispute while those involved were at a restaurant located in the area earlier that night.
It doesn’t seem that from the video that any bystanders were hurt, luckily.
The penalty for affray contains a jail term up to a year, a fine of $5,000 or both. Police investigations are still ongoing at the moment.
And those guys better pray they’re not found guilty.
Tensions are high and you might be pissed off at the moment but do remember to take a second to be aware of your surroundings.
Unless you want to take a gamble with the law then be my guest.
But what’s next after chairs though? Table legs?
