The first word that comes to mind when we talk about animes and cosplayers is geek. Some of us don’t hang out with them, others just feel they’re abnormal. But is this true? Let’s see the 5 misconceptions about anime lovers and fans that everyone should now know.
They’re nerds
Yes, maybe some of them indeed are. But most of them are simply normal beings like us. They just love anime, that’s all. People might get the idea these people are nerds because they think that anime are cartoons but have you tried to understand the content of these anime? There are lots of meaningful anime that reflects our current world social issues and situations. There are others talking about kinship, friendships and life lessons. Of course, there are some anime that are for plain entertainment.
They’re weird with the cross-dressing
Not every anime lover cosplay. They might just be watching for leisure, and while there are some who get all excited about it, they mean no harm. It’s similar to getting hooked on computer games, they like this non-realistic virtual world that they seek comfort in.
They’re lame
They are not but maybe you are. Some anime characters are really cute and lovable and the stories can get so complex that you cannot imagine. They have something they are passionate about and ain’t afraid to show it.
They don’t have friends
They are imagined to be nerds who stay home all day to watch anime and they don’t have real friends. But wow, you’ll be taken aback by the number of chats in forums you can find on the net. They really communicate a lot.
They don’t have a life
They’re probably students, or working adults. Everyone is either of those. You go to school, you hang out, you get drunk. They do too.
