River Hong Bao & Chingay 2020 to Go On Despite Wuhan Virus Threat

Despite the Wuhan virus threat, the two key events in Singapore during Chinese New Year, River Hong Bao and Chingay, will still go on.

River Hong Bao’s last day is on 1 February 2020, while Chingay will be held for two days, on 31 January 2020 and 1 February 2020.

The authorities are, however, taking extra measures to ensure the safety of the people.

7 Wuhan Virus Confirmed Cases in Singapore Now as Hubei Travel Ban Will Take Place From Today at 12pm

In total, for the entirety of 27 January 2020, three people in Singapore were tested positive for the Wuhan virus.

All of them come from Wuhan and had landed in Singapore prior to the Wuhan lockdown. All three of them also only exhibit symptoms after being in Singapore for a while.

With so many cases, the authorities is implementing stricter travel regulations for Hubei travellers from 12pm onwards.

Fake Police Website Tricks People to Unlock Computer

A fake police website that resembles a SPF website has emerged.

Victims will be shown a full-screen website that purports that the user’s computer has been blocked “due to (the) viewing and dissemination of materials forbidden by (the) law of Singapore.”

It essentially just uses the full-screen browser mode to create the illusion that the user’s computer is indeed blocked.

Victims would have to pay $1,000 within six hours or “criminal proceedings” will be initiated.
