SCDF Uses Ladder To Save 2 Men On 13th Floor From Bukit Batok Flat That Caught Fire

In the early morning yesterday, an HDB flat in Bukit Batok went up in flames. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) used a long ladder to rescue the two residents.

The firemen rescued a woman who was around 60 years old from the toilet. The fire, on the other hand, was put out using two water jets.

S’pore Billionaire Donates $10 million to NParks’ Garden City Fund To Help Young Singaporeans

A Singaporean billionaire donated a total of $10million to the NParks’ Garden City Fund. This was unsurprisingly the single largest donation by a person to the fund, which comes from the Peter Lim Horticulture and Animal Science Scholarship.

It’s a nationwide gardening movement that hopes to bring residents together regardless of age to improve Singapore’s greenery.

Warrant Officer Convicted Of Encouraging Colleague To Commit Rash Act In SCDF Ragging 

A Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) first warrant officer is the third person to be convicted in the SCDF ragging case. The incident had caused the death of a full-time national serviceman Corporal Kok Yuen Chin.

He was 22 years old when he died. The first warrant officer, Mohamed Farid Mohd Saleh had told Muhammad Nur Fatwa Mahmood to push the corporal into a 12-m deep pump well.

Man Arrested For Launching Illegal Fireworks In Little India

A 43-year-old man was arrested on 31 October, Thursday for being involved in launching illegal fireworks in Little Sunday. The incident happened on Sunday.

According to the police, even though no injuries were reported, he could be jailed for up to two years, fined between $2,000 and $10,000 or both.

Man Who Stole Tap From Woodlands Police Station Receives Less Jail Time

A man was previously sentenced to three months in jail for stealing a tap from a police station in Woodlands. However, he has since had his jail term reduced to about three weeks after successfully appealing in High Court on Friday, 1 November.

Police only realised that the tap was missing a month late, after a cleaner had noticed that the tap was not where it was supposed to be.
