More Trees and Plants To Be Planted At Over 80 New HDB Estates
The Housing Board (HDB) said it is bolstering efforts to provide more foliage and greenery to create a liveable and sustainable environment for residents.
These plans include 80 new housing projects, with Build-To-Order (BTO) developments like Tampines GreenView, Bedok North Woods, West Plains @ Bukit Batok, Anchorvale Plains, Tampines GreenBloom and Tampines GreenFlora.

Driver of 2nd Car That Ran Over 69YO E-biker in Maserati Accident Arrested
The driver of the second car that allegedly ran over a woman in Cantonment Road was arrested five days after the fatal accident last Sunday (5 Jan).
The 44-year-old driver had fled the scene before the police arrived and was arrested on Friday for failing to render assistance.
The woman was arrested along with a 25-year-old Maserati driver, who was arrested for dangerous driving causing death after the accident last Sunday.

2nd Suspected Patient in S’pore Confirmed Not Linked to Mystery Wuhan Virus
The second person who was placed in isolation here in fear that he had contracted the Wuhan virus has been cleared of the disease.
Clinical assessment and laboratory test results show that it was not linked to the pneumonia cluster in Wuhan.
The 26-year-old man was a Chinese national with pneumonia and a travel history to Wuhan.

Expect Longer Waiting Times During Initial Phase Of Thomson-East Coast Line: LTA
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has warned the public of longer waiting times during the first stage of the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL1).
Commuters may have to wait up to 15 minutes for a train during the initial operating period.
This is because of low projected ridership during the early days of the new line, said LTA.

Singapore Congratulates Taiwan’s Tsai On Election Win
Singapore has congratulated Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen and her party on their election victory on Saturday (11 Jan).
In a press statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said “We welcome the successful conclusion of the elections in Taiwan on Jan 11, 2020, and congratulate Dr Tsai Ing-wen and her party on their victory.”
Singapore and Taiwan share a close and friendly relationship for many years, they added.
“We will continue to grow this relationship based on Singapore’s ‘One China’ policy.”
