A 26-year-old woman has been charged with throwing her newborn baby boy into a rubbish chute at a Bedok flat. The incident happened last month and she had intended to abandon him.
The baby had been found alive inside a rubbish chute at Block 534 Bedok North Street 3 at around 9.10am on 7 January.

Man Charged With Cheating Victim of $175,000 For 500 Cartons Of Masks
A 28-year-old man has been charged on Saturday with cheating another man into paying $175,000 as a deposit for 500 cartons of surgical face masks.
Daryl Cheong Zhi Yong had allegedly tricked the man into believing that he had masks for sale at $400,000 for 500 cartons. The transaction was made near the McDonald’s outlet at Jurong Point on 13 February.

Couples Postpone & Take Precautions To Make Weddings Safe During COVID-19 Outbreak
Couples who have weddings planned amidst the novel coronavirus updates are taking enhanced measures to make weddings safer. For example, at least one couple will provide a bottle of sanitiser at the reception table.
Hotels such as Sofitel Singapore City Centre said that all guests are required to fill a compulsory health and travel declaration form and take their temperatures before entering the ballroom.

Public Preparedness Clinics Reactivated To Reduce Risk Of COVID-19 Spread
Hundreds of general practitioner (GP) clinics will be reactivated as Public Health Preparedness Clinics (PHPCs) in line with measures to improve detection and management of those down with COVID-19.
It is described by the Ministry of Health (MOH) as a “proactive step” to reduce the risk of further community spread.

Organisations Will Take Additional Steps To Maintain Central Services & Business As COVID-19 Measures Take A Hit On Manpower
Organisations from different sectors will have to ensure that central services and businesses go on as usual after the leave of absence and five-day medical leave negatively impact manpower amidst the novel coronavirus.
This was announced by the Senior Minister of State for Transport Janil Puthucheary on Saturday. This includes arrangements for employees to telecommute, work at different locations or in shifts.
