45YO Motorcyclist Dies After Fatal Accident On SLE

A 45-year-old motorcyclist was reportedly involved in an accident with two cars and a trailer on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) and unfortunately lost his life.

The accident happened at 8.45am and the man was pronounced dead once the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) arrived on the scene.

The cause of the accident is still unknown and police investigations are ongoing. The police also urged the public not to circulate the gory video of the accident.

More Members of Singapore Are Aware Of Climate Change & Are Willing To

According to a survey done by the National Climate Change Secretariat, it was found that over 90% of Singaporeans and permanent residents aged above 15 knew about climate change and the impacts of it.

Almost four in five of the people surveyed also said that even though they may have to incur additional costs and experience certain inconveniences, they were still willing to play their part in contributing to a low-carbon Singapore.

Despite less than half of the people not knowing how to contribute, many have answered that they have carried out environmentally-friendly actions at home, contrary to the results of those who have been surveyed in 2017.

HDB Will Be Launching 3,000 More BTO Units In 2020

According to National Development Minister Lawrence Wong’s blog post, there will be a projected number of 16,000 to 17,000 BTO flats being launched in 2020, which is 3,000 more than this year’s supply of BTO flats.

This is in response to the rising demand for BTO flats and also follows the changes in key policies for eligible grants.

Thanks to the increase in the housing grant for their first Housing Board flat, more young couples will be able to enjoy up to $80,000 in subsidies for a new BTO flat, and up to $160,000 in subsidies for a resale flat.

44YO Father Who Sexually Assaulted 9YO Daughter Sentenced To Jail

Sometime before May 2018, a 44-year-old man returned home after having a few drinks with his friend. He proceeded to his nine-year-old daughter’s room to retrieve some clothes from their shared wardrobe, but instead of doing so, he laid down behind her on her bed and hugged her from behind.

He started to get sexually aroused and rubbed his genitals on her and molested her. The victim was awoken by this but was too afraid to do anything.

Apparently, he had done this on at least two other occasions between the months of May and September last year.

He has been sentenced to one year and nine months’ jail, as well as three strokes of the cane.

47YO Woman Jailed & Fined For Assaulting 81YO Father Who Tried To Stop Her From Assaulting Domestic Helper

47-year-old Bibianna Lim Poh Suan confronted and assaulted her domestic helper Ms Theresa Elevencione Gamuzaran on 28 February 2018. She slapped Ms Gamuzaran multiple times on the face which caused the latter to experience a decrease in hearing.

Upon hearing the commotion, Lim’s 81-year-old father came out and tried to stop Lim from doing any more harm. She then proceeded to kick her father in the stomach and bite him on his left forearm. Afterwards, she tried to get into her car. Her brother tried to stop her by jumping on the bonnet but later rolled off to the side.

Her brother reportedly sustained injuries to his knee from being hit by her car.

Lim has since been sentenced to 12 weeks’ jail and a fine of $800.
