Over 4,000 Tickets Handed To Smokers In 2019 For Flouting Orchard Smoking Ban

Over 4,000 tickets were handed to smokers last year for violating the Orchard smoking ban, according to the National Environment Agency (NEA). The ban took into effect on 1 April.

Those who are fined will have to pay a fine of $200. 26% of the tickets were handed to tourists, while the remaining percentage was handed to Singaporeans.

Ramesh Given Stern Warning For Verbally Abusing Security Staff After Condo Parking Saga

Mr Erramalli Ramesh, the man who was caught on video verbally abusing a condominium guard in October 2019 has been given a stern warning by the police after a consultation with the Attorney-General’s Chambers.

This was due to him intentionally causing harassment. Four other men were also issued warnings for harassing him, which included threatening his family with death, violence and rape.

More Jobs Closer To Smarter Homes In Punggol When Digital District Is Ready In 2023

The Punggol Digital District will provide residents with more jobs located close to greener and smarter homes. It will also provide more convenience, according to Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean.

The 50ha district will be home to a business park that’s being developed by national industrial estate developer JTC. It is scheduled to be ready in 2023.

No Cancer Cells Found In British Boy In Singapore For Experimental Treatment

No cancer sells have been found in the blood of a British Boy who came to Singapore to undergo experimental treatment for an aggressive form of leukaemia.

The leukemia was about to cause his death in mere months, however, test results that came back on Wednesday night showed that the five-year-old has no cancer cells in him.

Extended Train & Bus Services on Eve of Chinese New Year

Operating hours for some train and bus services will be extended on 24 January, which is the even of Chinese New Year. This will provide a mode of public transportation for those who will be out till late.

SMRT announced that trains departing from City Hall on the North-South and East-West Line as well as from Dhoby Ghaut and HarbourFront on the Circle line will have extended service hours.
