Court Dismisses Bid To Mount Constitutional Challenge Over TOC Criminal Defamation Case
Lawyer M.Ravi had tried to mount a constitutional challenge in the High Court on the basis that charges against his client infringed the right to equal treatment before the law.
However, it was dismissed on Monday. Deputy Public Prosecutor had argued that Mr Ravi’s application had no merit and was both “frivolous and vexatious”.

An opposition party had went to court after allegedly false statements it made in articles on local employment.

the Trade and Industry Minister Chan Chun Sing said on Monday that Singapore has to “defy the odds of history” in order to survive and thrive as a small city.
He also mentioned that the last five decades since gaining independence in 1965 has been an “aberration” in Singapore’s history.

New Hawkers Can Now Have 40% Off Their Rental for 15 Months
Experienced hawkers will mentor those who want to start their own business and provide apprenticeship as part of a new programme which has been launched on Monday.
The programme is called Hawkers’ Development Programme which was jointly developed by the National Environment Agency (NEA) and SkillsFuture Singapore offering training grants and SkillFuture credits.

Expelled NTU Student Receives Short Detention Order For Recording Video Of Woman In Hall Toilet
The Nanyang Technological University (NTU) student who was expelled after filming a woman in a shower on campus was sentenced by a court on Monday to a short detention order of 14 days.
