Yew Tee Will Have Singapore’s Second Vertical ‘Kampung’ Including Flats For Seniors By 2026
A vertical ‘kampung’ for seniors would mean that they can access facilities like polyclinics and community clubs within the same development. It will be located beside Yew Tee MRT and will be ready by 2026.
Called the “Yew Tee Integrated Development,” it will be developed by the Housing Board, People’s Association, Ministry Of Health, and National Environment Agency.
This vertical ‘kampung’ has been modelled after Kampung Admiralty which has received many positive responses.

MPH Will Reopen In Singapore At SingPost Centre As A Books And Lifestyle Store
MPH will open a new concept store at SingPost Centre at Paya Lebar. The 1,900 sq ft store is projected to open by November 2019 and will be made up of 55% books and magazines.
The other 45% will consist of lifestyle products, beverages and snacks. This comes after it closed its previous outlets at Parkway Parade and Raffles City due to high rental cost.
More small concept stores are set to open in Singapore. However, the dates and locations have yet to be confirmed.

Two Chua Chu Kang Hawker Centres Are Being Built; The First Will Be Ready By 2026
To date, there is no hawker centre in Chua Chu Kang (shocking, isn’t it?). However, by 2026, this is set to change as the first of two hawker centres will be ready.
The first was announced in 2015, and the second one was announced yesterday by National Environment Agency.
The two hawker centres make up the 20 hawker centres that were announced by the government in 2011, some of which have already been built or are in the process of being built.

Haze At Unhealthy Levels Amidst Final Race For F1
At 3pm yesterday, PSI level was the highest in the South, at 118. The PSI level was the lowest in the North, at 103.
Overall, the PSI level was in the unhealthy range throughout Singapore amidst the final race for Formula One.
A reading of 101 to 200 is in the unhealthy range. The Formula One race took place in the South. Netizens observed that the skies looked visibly hazy, a cause for concern for those attending the F1 race.

Singapore’s First Climate Rally Took Place At Hong Lim Park
Singapore’s first climate rally took place at Hong Lim Park on 21 September 2019 despite the haze. Participants turned up in red clothing to signify that climate change is now an emergency.
They also pretended to ‘die’ by laying on the ground to portray the loss of lives of both humans, animals and habitats due to global warming. A total of 2,000 people showed up at the rally and were attended by people of all ages.
In August 2019, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said that we might need to spend more than $100 billion over 100 years to combat rising sea levels which may affect Singapore.
