Two Fires Broke Out In Bedok And Hougang On First Day of CNY
Two fires broke out on Saturday morning (Jan 25), the first day of Chinese New Year; one at Bedok and the other at Hougang.
The fire at Block 539A Bedok North Street 3 resulted in the contents of an entire floor of a supermarket being destroyed.
The other fire occurred at a residential flat at Block 672 Hougang Avenue 8.
No injuries from either fire were reported.

MOH Confirms 4th Wuhan Virus Case in S’pore; Had Stayed in Sentosa Hotel & Is In Sengkang Hospital
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed a fourth case of the deadly Wuhan virus.
The patient is a 36-year-old man from Wuhan who arrived in Singapore with his family on 22 Jan.
The man showed no symptoms on that day and passed the temperature screening. However, he developed a cough the next day and went to Sengkang General Hospital’s (SKH’s) emergency department on Jan 24.
Subsequent test results confirmed he was infected with the Wuhan coronavirus.

Singaporean Passengers & Crew Of Scoot Flight To Fly Home After Hangzhou Quarantine
After spending more than a day in quarantine in Hangzhou, China, the Singaporean passengers and crew of Scoot flight TR 188 are scheduled to return home on Sunday (26 Jan) night.
After TR 188 landed on Friday (25 Jan) in Hangzhou, a male passenger was taken for further blood tests.
Subsequently, all 314 passengers on the flight were isolated at Hangzhou International Airport.
They will return with the nine Singaporean passengers, including a four-year-old boy, and 11 Scoot staff.

MOH: Online Rumours That Someone In Singapore Died From Wuhan Virus Is Fake
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has quashed rumours circulating online that an individual in Singapore has died from the Wuhan coronavirus.
They advised the public not to speculate or spread fake news.
In a Facebook post, they said “MOH is aware of rumours circulating online that an individual has died from the novel coronavirus infection at a shopping mall in Singapore.”
“We would like to clarify that there have been no deaths among suspect or confirmed cases to date.”

MFA Closely Monitoring Virus Situation In Wuhan, In Contact With 35 Singaporeans There
On Saturday (25 Jan), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said that they are closely monitoring the Wuhan outbreak in China and that it was in touch with 35 Singaporeans in the city of Wuhan.
The Singaporeans in Wuhan had registered on the MFA website or contacted the ministry, all reporting that they are well.
The ministry also advised Singaporeans to avoid all travel to the virus-hit Hubei province in China.
